EDUCATION

Graduated in 2002 from the University of Iowa with a Masters in Accounting.

EXPERIENCE

Worked for many years as an administrative assistant, bookkeeper and accountant before deciding to achieve my life-long dream of beng a CPA.  Although the degrees provide academic experience, the real life experiences really round out the package.

Started my CPA career in a large regional firm doing Research and Development and Cost Segregation Studies.  During tax season, it was all hands on deck. I developed relationships with small businesses and a passion of working with “the little guy.”

It soon became evident to me that I needed to forge my own path and fill the void created by the larger firms as they could no longer “afford” to service smaller individuals and businesses; likewise, fees were becoming out of reach for many.  With that epiphany combined with a drive and passion for what I do, my firm was created in October 2002.

FOCUS

As noted, I focus on the “little guy” and pride myself in educating and preparing timely products.  You will not hear me say, let’s just put this tax return on extension when you walk in the door, nor will you receive financial statements that are three months old.

AND I love it when clients want to understand their tax returns or financial statements.  I have learned that not everyone has in interest in understanding – that is okay – but my eyes light up when I get to explain tax or accounting concepts.  An educated client is a happy client.
